Wafflo

I get this strange feeling that I’ll be seeing alot of these around very shortly. They kind of remind me of those boots that Napolean Dynamite wore for his dance performance. similar…

WiFi your ride!

January 2, 2007

It appears that a start-up wireless company called Autonet Mobile is going to be supplying Wi-Fi  access point for Avis rental cars.  The service will cost like $10.95 a day.

The company also expects to make the device and service available to consumers at some point. The device will cost like $400 and the service will cost about $50 a month.

XO, the $100 laptop — social networking for 3rd world children!!

January 2, 2007

The XO has been touted as the $100 latptop that they’ll be supplying for kids in Thailand, Libya, and other developing countries.

XO

“When the student opts to view the entire “neighborhood” — the XO’s preferred term instead of “desktop” — other stick figures in different colors might appear on the screen. Those indicate schoolmates who are nearby, as detected by the computers’ built-in wireless networking capability.

Moving the PC’s cursor over the classmates’ icons will pull up their names or photos. With further clicks the students can chat with each other or collaborate on things — an art project, say, or a music program on the computer, which has built-in speakers.”

It sounds like a mobile MySpace. I don’t think it’s a such bad idea to teach these kids in 3rd world countries some social networking skills. Isn’t that just what they need ?

I’m not exactly sure why I want one, but I do!

Perez Hilton and Elton John — similar ?

January 2, 2007

Is it just me or are they “similar” ?

I don’t have side by side body shots or anything, but even their body shape is “similar”. I think they have more in common than just their Queen status.

UFO over Ohare Airport in Chicago

January 2, 2007

I had a friend send me an email today about a UFO sighting over a terminal at O’hare Aiport here in Chicago on November 7, 2006.

Chicago Tribune Article

I was completely unaware of the occurrence, so I decided to do some googling YouTubing and get to the bottom of it all.

I was unable to find any photos or videos of the sighting. Why is it that someone is able to snap a picture of Britney’s vagina in the brief moment it’s visible, and yet an airport filled with cellphone and camera toting travellers couldn’t get a shot of a UFO that was reported to be hovering over the terminal for 2 minutes ?? It was said that it also punched a hole in the cloud cover. No pics of that either ??

I am not a complete skeptic of UFO’s, I am open to the possibility of there being aliens. But, I think that if they are real, one logical explaination would be that we are basically lab rats. Lets examine some basic things regarding what we know/believe about aliens :

  • They are very hard to detect, and it seems as if they are pretty bent on not being detected.
  • They don’t seem to have any immediate need to destroy our planet.
  • They really don’t seem to make any attempt to communicate, it would seem that they could easily do that if they wanted.
  • They tend to land in deserted crop fields and leave markings — quite possibly just the form of their aircraft means of propulsion and have no real significance other than that.
  • They are believed to take people from rural areas and perform tests on them, such as anal probes. These people report what would seem to be quite similar to a scientist taking a lab rat out to test the results of a test.

I’d say that it seems plausible that we are a test in progress. I guess if you believed this, you might also wonder what happens to the lab rats when the experiment is over.

Razors – Why are they so expensive ??

January 2, 2007

I am sure this question is asked by anyone who buys razor replacements at some time or another. My Gillette Fusion razor replacements cost $20 for 8. That’s over $2 each. I understand that it’s the power of 5 blades and a precision trimmer blade on the back, all at my immediate disposal. But do they really cost that much to make ??

Fusion

It’s gotten to the point where you have to get someone to open a security case at the store to get your blades. Do a search on ebay for Gillete Fusion razors and you’ll realize that they are as reliable a currency as Gold in many ways. Everyone uses them, and we don’t really scrutinize the cost like we do other products.

Now they even tag them with little spy chips that are used to signal a camera to take your picture — in case you are a thief.

SpyChip

Gillete Spychips

GPS razor protection can’t be far off. I think that would make a great episode of “Cops”, tracking down a razor thief.

Chicago Bears -When will we stop featuring weakness ?

January 2, 2007

This last game of the regular season against the Packers was a complete disgrace. When does Lovie Smith wake up and realize that we don’t need to focus heavily on having a passing game ? Maybe it’s just me, but does Grossman look like a Super Bowl QB in this picture ? I think it’s time to end the charade.

Grossman

In the preseason I thought it was very odd that Lovie Smith seemed to just hand the starting QB job to Grossman, even though Griese seemed to be the more capable based on performance. Now we are heading to the playoffs with a major question mark at QB. What happened to making a young player earn his position ?

Benson

Cedric Benson runs for 109 yard on 18 carries, and we throw 5 interceptions with our passing game. Isn’t it quite clear which is our strength ? I think that most coaches would agree that you should keep running the ball until the other team can stop it. Why take risks that you don’t need to take ?

It’s going to be interesting to see what the Bears gameplan is for their first playoff game. I still honestly believe that we could beat any team as long as we focus on running the ball and play a field position game. Why take risks in the passing game if we don’t have to ?Favre

I do respect Brett Favre, and he quite possibly be the best QB of all-time. But the Packers winning this game was more about us featuring weakness and neglecting our strengths.
