There has been alot of debate about these two formats and I’m kind of sick of hearing about it. There is now more debate about hybrid players being introduced in the future. But do we really want that ? Isn’t buying a dual format player kind of voting that you want both formats ? Is that really what we want ?
I have a dual DVD/VHS system, but I rarely ever use the VHS. It’s more just for the sake of being able to watch things you might already have on VHS. At least both are successful formats that were embraced by the masses in their day.
This hybrid dual format player would seem to be only a transitional box that the bleeding edge can buy to ensure they can watch movies only supported by a single format. I believe the masses want to have one format, I know I do. Who wants to spend more money to have a player that supports two formats that both deliver HD content ?
Why spend extra to support the loser ?
